| Five
Things You should Ask Before You Hire A Wedding Florist: |
| 1.Can
you work within my budget? |
| Most
florists have a minimum fee for delivery and installation
of your event. Look for a florist that will offer you
creative ideas about the best way to stay closest to your
budget, such as using the centerpieces down the aisle
for the ceremony as well as on the tables for your reception. |
| 2.
Do you book back-to-back weddings? |
Some
florists handle many weddings on one day, and others,
such as a Special Event Florist, may handle one wedding
at a time.
Either way, make sure you feel comfortable and reassured
with
your florist's ability to dedicate his or her time and
attention to your event. Look for a florist who will give
you great customer service. |
| 3.
What are the terms of payment? |
| After
you have found a florist that you would like to book,
a deposit will be required to hold your date. The deposit
can range from 10% to 50% and in most cases will be non-refundable.
Many florists require the balance to be paid in full 30
days before your event. This way, you are assured that
you will receive exactly what you have ordered. A florist
needs several weeks to ship specialty roses from Ecuador
and French tulips from Holland. |
| 4.
Do you have references? |
Look
for a florist that has client reviews on their website,
and ask if you can speak to their satisfied customers. |
| 5.
Can you help me with other design aspects such as linens,
lighting and catering? |
| Some
florists will only handle the flower order, while others,
such as a Special Event Florist, will offer help with
all the design elements such as offering linen rental
services which helps to keep your color choices consistant.
Also, look for a florist that has a network of vendors
that know each other's work and reputation. Vendors that
work together often and know each other's "style"
can cooperate to ensure a smooth and cohesive event. |
When
you've answered these questions, you can sit back, relax,
and feel confident that you have hired a Floral Professional
that will make your wedding dreams come true.
Now go get your hair done and let your
florist do her job!
